Q1. What vaccinations does my dog need for boarding or daycare?

A. We require up-to-date core vaccinations (DHPP), kennel cough (Bordetella/parainfluenza) given at least 14 days before arrival, and current flea and worm prevention. Please bring your vaccination record, or email a copy in advance.

Q2. What are your drop-off and collection times?

A. Weekdays: 08:30–13:00 and 13:30–17:30. Weekends: 09:00–13:00 and 13:30–16:00.

We suggest afternoon drop off is no later than 2.30pm to give your dog the opportunity to exercise and settle in to the kennels before the evening.

Q3. What should I bring for my dog’s stay?

A. If you wish you can provide your own food, any medications with instructions, a favourite blanket or toy, and your vaccination record. However We provide comfy bedding, bowls, toys and plenty of enrichment. We feed Arden Grange kibble and appropriate wet foods.

Q4. Can you feed my dog’s own diet, and give medications?

A. Yes. We follow your feeding plan precisely, including raw, dry, or mixed diets. We administer routine medications as directed; please supply clear, written instructions. Please call to discuss any specific requirements such as timed medication or injections

Q5. Do you accept puppies, seniors, or intact dogs?

A. Yes to puppies (after vaccinations) and seniors, provided they’re comfortable in a kennel environment. We accept intact dogs and bitches in season on a case-by-case basis; Speak to us about your senior dog’s requirements

Q6. How do you handle nervous dogs or separation anxiety?

A. We use calm introductions, enrichment, and predictable routines. For anxious dogs we can start with shorter trial sessions, gentle staff contact, and quiet rest breaks. Our methods are approved by both the local authority and our nominated veterinarian

Q7. Is playtime supervised and do dogs mix?

A. All play is supervised and carefully matched by size, temperament, and energy. Social play is only with owner consent and staff approval. We can exercise dogs on their own if required. Staff to dog supervision ratios conform to our local authority 5 star rating

Q8. Do you offer grooming during a stay?

A. Yes—bath, brush-out, and breed-appropriate grooming can be added to boarding for an extra charge. Ask when booking, and we’ll try our best to schedule it before collection. We don’t send a muddy dog home! We can also provide a grooming service for dogs that aren’t boarding with us.

Q9. Are you licensed and insured? What happens in an emergency?

A. We are 5-star local-authority licensed and fully insured. Our emergency procedures and protocols have been approved. If there’s a health concern, we contact you immediately and liaise with your vet or our nominated local veterinary partners.

Q10. How do I book, what’s the deposit, and what is your cancellation policy?

A. Call 01664 840354 or email fiona@murrayhillkennels.com to book. A deposit may be required during peak periods; standard cancellations with plenty of notice before arrival are generally refundable.

Q11. Do you offer multi-dog discounts or long-stay rates?

A. Yes—multi-dog, same-household discounts and long-stay rates are available. Tell us your dates and we’ll provide a tailored quote.

Q12. What should I do before my dog’s first daycare session?

A. Speak to us. It may be appropriate to book an assessment slot for some breeds. There are some breeds we don’t take. You can drop off and collect your dog at any time within our opening hours. Bring vaccination records, let us know any behaviour notes, allergies, or triggers. And don’t worry!! Your companion is in excellent, caring, professional hands!
